4th generation student Ms.Alina Pun: “I will never give up!” An amazing Nepali who braved the coronavirus pandemic and achieved success in Japan

Alina Pun from Myagdi, Nepal became interested in studying in Japan after hearing about her study experience in Japan from a teacher at a Nepali university. She studied Japanese at FujiOK and got her COE in February 2020. On March 18th, she headed to Tribhuvan in high spirits to leave for Japan. However, she was at the final stage of immigration, and her departure was stopped . Even though she has a visa from the Japanese embassy and the airline has checked all the documents and issued a ticket. Immigration staff persuaded Alina to wait two weeks.
However, the Nepali staff never dreamed that those words would cause Alina to wait for two whole years. Immediately after that, the coronavirus outbreak started, and all flights came to a halt.
Her visa had expired and She was waiting for an announcement to issue it again, but since there was no announcement that the visa service would start, I checked the embassy’s website and found out that it had already started, so we applied at the beginning of October. Three months later, on December 28th, she was able to apply date for a visa.
When I called the consul at the embassy, wondering why it was three months away, consul said, “5,000 people waiting…
However, the announcements are not fair and the unfairness of not taking into account the order of April students, July students, and October students has increased the confusion in the behavior of international students due to the coronavirus, and Alina is also one of them. she got caught up in it.
Furthermore, Alina is put to the test.
The coronavirus variant of December 26, 2020 appears.
On the day of Alina’s visa application on December 28th, Her appointment was suddenly canceled.
The one saving grace was the announcement from the embassy. She wanted to be reassured that the order in which applications were received would be respected and that there would be no need to make another appointment the next time immigration resumed.

However, this promise was not kept.

The re-entry into Japan due to this coronavirus variant will be on November 10, 2021, the following year.
We had believed the embassy’s announcement, and as we were waiting to hear about our turn to issue visas, we were entrusted to an agency called VFS.
VFS had a system in which whoever makes an appointment wins (first come, first served).
When I called the consul at the embassy, he said, “The Immigration Services Agency will conduct the examination.so “I can’t keep my turn”. but if that’s the case, such an announcement should be made in advance.
However, the announcement from the Immigration and Emigration Services Agency stated that examinations would be conducted in the following order.
[Time of screening] [Time of obtaining residence status of eligible person]
① Target users from November 2021 → January 1, 2020 to March 31, 2020
② Target users from December 2021 → January 1, 2020 to September 30, 2020
③ Target users in January 2020 → January 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021
In other words, the Immigration Services Agency says that it will examine each person in order.
In other words, at the web entry stage of VFS visa application, the same announcement as above should have been made by the Immigration Services Agency, but instead the work was outsourced to VFS, and VFS mechanically decided to do it on a first-come. Alina was once again caught up in the chaos caused by the incident.
However, at FujiOK, Teacher submitted a petition to the embassy, and succsess to the VFS entry, and in the midst of this chaos, Alina was able to obtain a Visa in Nepal’No.1 and leave Japan in March 2022.

The day Alina leaves: “You worked really hard for three years” (March 2022)

The day Alina leaves: “You worked really hard for three years” (March 2022)

And then, she passed N3 at JLTP at the end of 2022.
In December 2023, she was accepted to College of Foreign Languages.
